The HoneyLine with Eva Longoria Parker

@[Got a question for Gabby? She's answering you here!](http://www.thehoneyline.com/articles/gabby/ask-gabby/ask-gabby) Gabby Reece has shared her conversations with [Courtney Cox Arquette](/show/segments/view/honeyline-courteney-cox/), and [Sheryl Crow](/show/segments/view/girl-talk-sheryl-crow/) as part of her series that highlights how a "honeyline" of friends helps keep us balanced, fulfilled and reassured that we're not alone. "You do have a lot of very famous, very beautiful, successful friends," Rachael tells Gabby, who sits down with pal Eva Longoria Parker on *Desperate Housewives*' Wisteria Lane. Gabby tells Eva, "I imagine with your schedule that you really must rely, besides [your husband] Tony, on some form of a HoneyLine." Growing up in a family of women, Eva realized early on how vital it is to have a support system. "I come from a long line of women who just get it done. But growing up I realized nobody did it by themselves. My mom had all of her sisters, I had my sisters, and being in L.A. I have 'sisters of the heart,' which are my best friends." That group includes her *Desperate Housewives* co-stars who were a big influence when she became a star. "They had all had hit shows and they had all been through it. [Marcia [Cross]](/show/segments/view/marcia-cross-11-24/) was the first one that was like, 'Your life's going to change.' She's been kind of like the warm friend that you can always just go to. [Felicity [Huffman]](/show/segments/view/felicity-huffmanseason3/) is an amazing human being, she's great at giving advice. Nicollette [Sheridan] is the crazy good time one. She's the one that's like, 'OK let's go. Let's get a drink! Where are we going?'" While she plays a label hound on her hit ABC series, Eva says she's the "exact opposite" of her character, and is comfortable running around town in casual clothes -- even when the paparazzi catch her off guard. "People understand the red carpet's the red carpet and when I'm at the grocery store it's the grocery store," she says. "I think people appreciate that, I think that's why people find me a little more accessible." When Gabby asks for Eva's secret to her complexion, Eva credits her outlook on life. "I laugh a lot and I try to stay as stress-free as possible. I notice though that when I stress out, I break out," says Eva. Her new marriage to basketball star Tony Parker also keeps her glowing. Because Eva and Tony maintain a long-distance relationship, she says their limited time together is a constant honeymoon. "If something bothers you, you let it slide off because you go, 'I just want to spend these moments with you.'" Gabby, who's been married for over 11 years, chimes in with her secrets to a successful relationship. "The key is we are not competitive, and we have our own lives. My happiness does not rely upon him making me happy," she explains, adding that compromise and flexibility are also critical. "You have to be a flower and a farmer. Sometimes you're the flower, and sometimes you're the farmer."
