Dr. Ian Smith is showing off some of the best fitness tech of 2020, and the good news is that these three gadgets were designed to make at-home workouts more effective — and maybe even fun, too. Get all the details, including where to buy the products, below.
Gadget #1: NURVV Run Insoles & Trackers ($299.99)

Dr. Ian literally ran through the audience to get to Rach for this segment. Why? Because he was wearing the NURVV Run smart insoles in his shoes. He demonstrates how the running product uses smart insoles with precision sensors to measure running metrics directly from your feet, including cadence (steps per minute), step length (distance between steps), pronation (foot roll), footstrike (where your foot lands) and calories burned.
The insoles connect to the NURVV Run app where you can see these metrics instantly. Over time, the insoles learn about your running form and are able to provide additional insight on things like your balance and pronation and give tips to help you avoid injury. The insoles also have GPS trackers, so you can run with confidence.
"A lot of runners will like this," Dr. Ian says, "but [also for] the average person who needs to work on their running technique, it's really great."
Gadget #2: JAXJOX KettlebellConnect ($229.99)

This six-in-one adjustable kettlebell is perfect for small spaces. You can add or drop weight — ranging from 12-42 pounds — with the push of a button. And it takes just three seconds, saving you time as well.
The KettlebellConnect syncs with the JAXJOX app via Bluetooth and automatically tracks your reps, sets, weight, and rest time for smarter workouts.
"Kettlebells are great because they work out what's called your posterior chain: your glutes, your hamstrings, your erector spinae (which are your back muscles) and your traps and posterior deltoids," Dr. Ian says.
Gadget #3: YogiFi ($399, expected date of delivery is September 2020)

Maybe yoga has always been your preferred workout, or maybe you're a beginner yogi trying to practice relaxation during these stressful times. (Hey, we get it!) Either way, this product is perfect for you.
The YogiFi yoga mat uses artificial intelligence and actually speaks to you as you work out, helping you make adjustments in real time. It's like taking a one-on-one yoga class with an expert instructor, but from the comfort of your own home! As you practice, YogiFi will tell you if you're doing poses correctly or incorrectly, and how to correct your positioning if need be.
