Sunny Anderson makes over boring pancakes with six amazingly delicious recipes, from Cinnamon Roll Pancakes to Cookies N’ Cream pancakes. Since Father’s Day is this weekend, might we suggest one of these for the dad with a sweet tooth in your life?
Perfect Pancake Batter
First, Sunny starts with her “perfect pancake batter.” The ingredients are pretty straightforward –pre-made pancake mix, eggs, milk and butter. But what makes this batter special is a matter of technique – Sunny separates the egg yolks and whites and whips the egg whites to give the pancakes an extra boost of fluffiness! Genius!
Cinnamon Roll Pancakes
For the Cinnamon Roll pancakes, just add cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar to melted butter. When the sugar is melted and all is mixed well, put the liquid in a squeeze bottle. Then spoon pancake batter onto your griddle and squeeze a pinwheel drizzle of the cinnamon liquid onto the pancake. Top with some warmed cream-cheese frosting -- delish!
Pumpkin Spice Pancakes
Mix pumpkin pie spice and orange extract in with your pancake batter to get the flavors of a pumpkin pie. Topped the finished pancakes with a ginger-orange maple syrup.
No. 4: Cookies n' Cream Pancakes
Cookies n’ Cream Pancakes
For these, just add some crushed-up chocolate and crème sandwich cookies to your pancake batter – easy peasy! Serve with ice cream and chocolate syrup (this might be best served as a dessert).
No. 5: Pineapple Upside-Down Pancakes
Pineapple Upside-Down Pancake
These pineapple upside-down pancakes start with adding a pineapple ring with a maraschino cherry in the center, and some brown sugar to your greased griddle. Then spoon a quarter of a cup of the pancake batter over the top with a soup ladle – done!
Caramel Apple Pancakes
For these delicious treats, core and peel an apple, then cut rings. Put a ring right on to your griddle, then spoon batter over it. Yum!
