Our viewer Tasha Agruso from Greensboro, North Carolina, had recently moved into a new home, and wanted to tackle a small project that would give her motivation to finish updating the whole house. MAKE YOUR OWN CONCRETE COUNTERS
If you have a surface that has no cracks, Agruso says you can coat it with concrete for a modern update.
PAINT YOUR FLOORS
Use floor and porch paint to upgrade tired linoleum flooring. In the video below, Tasha demonstrates how to paint a striped design to give it visual interest.

Agruso found old curtains lying around and realized they’d be perfect for her updated laundry room. (As another thrifty viewer once told us: “Shop at home first.” You never know what you might find.) She also reused the leftover paint from her kids’ room.
