Playing Watch How a Viewer Redid an Entire Room (Including Countertops + Floors!) for $71!

Linoleum floors and laminate counter tops got you down? Even if an expensive remodel isn’t in your budget, if you can spare $72, you can make over a whole room!

Our viewer Tasha Agruso from Greensboro, North Carolina, had recently moved into a new home, and wanted to tackle a small project that would give her motivation to finish updating the whole house. She spent 48 hours and less than a hundred dollars, and turned her dated laundry room into a sunny space where she’d actually want to spend time!

If you have a surface that has no cracks, Agruso says you can coat it with concrete for a modern update.

PAINT YOUR FLOORS

Use floor and porch paint to upgrade tired linoleum flooring. In the video below, Tasha demonstrates how to paint a striped design to give it visual interest.

UPCYCLE STUFF YOU ALREADY HAVE

Agruso found old curtains lying around and realized they’d be perfect for her updated laundry room. (As another thrifty viewer once told us: “Shop at home first.” You never know what you might find.) She also reused the leftover paint from her kids’ room.

HEAD TO A DOLLAR STORE

Agruso framed free artwork with frames she bought at a dollar store.
