Playing Sunny Anderson's Waffle-Magized Ham and Cheese Stuffed French Toast
Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • milk, A splash
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 slices bread
  • Dijon mustard
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 4 slices ham, deli, chopped
  • Butter
Preparation

Beat egg with milk and season with salt and pepper.

Heat waffle iron to medium-high.


To assemble sandwich, slather one side of a bread slice with Dijon, top with a cheese slice, the ham, and top with the remaining cheese slice. Place the other bread slice on top. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture and turn to coat.

Melt a pat of butter in the waffle iron. Once melted, add the sandwich to the waffle iron and close the lid. Set a cast-iron pan or heavy pot on top of the waffle iron to press it down. Let cook until browned and the cheese melts, about 8 minutes.
