As they have in many years past, Rach and Denis Leary are once again joining forces in 2023 to honor our brave firefighters. 

Rach — whose Lake Luzerne home was tragically destroyed in an August 2020 house fire — is the first female board member of the Leary Firefighters Foundation, as she is passionate about fire safety and the wellness of first responders.  

Since 2021, the foundation has awarded over $1 million in grants to fire departments around the U.S. These grants have helped stations purchase life-saving equipment, build fire training facilities and complete technological upgrades. In addition to helping our heroic firefighters with their duties, these improvements — as a result — have also helped the men and women they serve.  

Every year, in celebration of International Firefighters’ Day, Rach and Denis team up for the “Firefighter Challenge” on Randall’s Island in New York where participants see what it’s like to be a firefighter for the day. Watch above to hear Denis speak about this special event.
