Meet Trisha, a 44-year-old wife and mother from New Jersey who has been through a lot.
She and her husband own a Mexican restaurant called La Casa del Sol. "The first Casa del Sol we lost to fire, the second one we also lost — that restaurant was wiped out by Hurricane Sandy," Trisha says.
"Shortly after all that, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had 16 rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy. Right after I was done with the breast cancer stuff and my hair started growing back, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer."
She's now in remission, but Trisha says that an experience like hers "just makes you realize how short life is, and how sometimes we all worry about such stupid things."
"When you get knocked down, you just have to get back up again. You have to realize what's important in life," she says. "I have a son to raise. He's my little hero and the best part of my life."
Today, Trisha says she's feeling great. About a year ago, she and her husband rebuilt the restaurant again for the third time. And the hardworking mom also makes time to give back.
Every month, she sets up collection boxes to raise money for people with cancer. "There will be shifts that I waitress and I give all my tips to the collection box," Trisha says.
"These days I really don't put priority on my look. I put it all into work," Trisha continues. "When it comes to my hair, honestly I just wash it and go. I just had my first haircut, actually, since everything — because I was afraid to cut it."
"I'm more than excited to get a new look," she continues. "When this is all over, I just want to feel beautiful. I haven't felt that."
We think you're beautiful as you are, Trisha, but we're here to make wishes like this come true!
So, we enlisted fashion expert Tommy DiDario, who says himself he "brings sexy" when he does a makeover on our show. Seriously, his last makeover has to be seen to be believed.
Watch the video above to see the amazing reveal (which includes a bonus outfit!) and an extra special, emotional surprise for Trisha.
