Kelsey Grammer opens up about his "magnificent" friendship with former co-star Kirstie Alley.

In December, the actress' children, True and Lillie Parker, announced that their mother had passed away at the age of 71 from cancer.

In an interview with Rach, Kelsey — who starred with Kirstie in the hit sitcom "Cheers" — remembers his friend as someone who was "always beautiful."

"She just had that thing about her. She was a radiant human being and that came through her," Kelsey says. "She knew how to love. She was so honest in her emotions all the time."

While recalling a time when he "got in trouble with the law" during "Cheers," Kelsey says Kirstie was one of the few people who came to his aid.

"She showed up. She was one of the only ones who really showed up... to be supportive and that was magnificent," he says.

Kelsey adds that Kirstie was "a wonderful person” who “always made me laugh."

"Everything she did made me giggle. The first time I went to her house, there were lemurs living on the property and I thought, only in Kirstie's world," he recalls.

Though he says he was supposed to see Kirstie at a book signing party for "Cheers" director James Burrows, "Kirstie was noticeably missing and about a week later she was gone.”

Back in 2017, Kirstie told Rach that she tried to take one of her pet lemurs through airport security in which the animal was confused for a cat.

"So I had the little carrier and [the lemur] was in there and I thought they’d just let me walk through. But they changed the rules, so they said, 'You have to take your cat out, ma'am.' So I was like, 'Oh my God,'" Kirstie says.

Fortunately, Kirstie kept up the gag (what a prankster!) — and it worked!

"I had this plan, I had to think of it really fast. So I take her out and I keep her moving [so they can't see her clearly], and I’m like, she’s really crazy, she’s so crazy, you don’t want to touch her… she’ll bite you!"
